FOLKS OF INNSMOUTH
George Cole
by
Franklyn Searight
We're not quite sure what drove poor George insane
When he inspected Innsmouth's plant one year.
It's rumored, though, queer things occurred within
That place where folks were known to disappear.
The books he checked were in appalling shape;
The broken, old machinery took up space;
Employees listlessly just loafed about.
What was the secret of that furtive place?
Two men from Danvers wearing white coats came;
Restraining him, they lugged the guy away.
Still in that cursed asylum, Georgie shrieks
Of scaly water-devils seen that day.
